Our Services

Gentle, Creative Therapy for All Ages

At Sensory Solutions, therapy is more than a service, it’s a journey that starts with a gentle conversation and leads to real, practical change. Here’s what we offer, how the process works, and what you can expect from your very first call through to ongoing support.

Step 1.

Start With a Free Call

Cost: Free
Duration: 20 minutes (phone call)

It all begins with a free, no-obligation phone call. This is your safe space to share what’s going on, ask questions, and find out if sandtray therapy feels right for you or your family. No pressure, just understanding.

Step 2.

Intake Session

Cost: $165
Duration: 60–90 minutes

Your first in-person session is for parents or carers (without the child). We’ll explore your concerns, discuss goals, and map out a support plan together. You’ll get a tour of our therapy space, an overview of how Sandtray Therapy works, and plenty of time for questions.

Includes:

  • Full case history and background

  • Review of any assessments or reports

  • Treatment planning and recommendations

  • Overview of how Sandtray Therapy works

  • A tour of the therapy space and time for questions

  • We may also provide parent or carer questionnaires if needed

Step 3.

Individual Sandtray Therapy Sessions

Cost: $180
Duration: 60 minutes (includes 45 minutes in-session, 15 minutes for therapist notes and cleaning)

One-on-one therapy sessions tailored to your child, teen, or yourself. These creative sessions use sandtray and play-based therapy to support emotional expression, resilience, and healing.

Note: This session can be booked as a standalone or after completing the Intake Session.

Check-Ins, Reviews & Collaboration

These sessions support families and carers beyond individual therapy.

Family Support and Progress Reviews

Duration: 30–90 minutes

Cost: $150

Regular check-ins to reflect on progress, answer questions, and share strategies for home.

Review, Re-Assessment and Next Steps

Duration: 60 minutes

Cost: $180

After a block of sessions (usually 10), we meet to review progress, discuss changes, and decide together on next steps—whether that’s continuing, pausing, or wrapping up therapy.

Professional Consultations and Meeting Attendance

Duration: 30–90 minutes

Cost: $150

For times when collaboration is needed beyond the therapy room, attending school meetings, case conferences, or discussions with other professionals involved in your or your child’s care.

Referrals from Agencies & Professionals

Referrals from government agencies and NGOs are welcome, and there is no cost for making a referral. If you are a professional wishing to refer a client, simply request our referral form and we will guide you through the process. We value collaboration and believe in working alongside other organisations to ensure clients receive the best support possible.

Our Space

 A Safe, Welcoming Environment

Our Coonabarabran therapy room  studio is sensory-friendly, private, and designed to help you feel safe not clinical. We know how important it is to access support locally, so we make it as easy and welcoming as possible for regional families.

What You Can Expect Afterwards

Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anxiety, or big emotions take over.

Maybe you’ve tried talking, but the words don’t come, or it feels too hard to explain. After working with us, clients often say they feel lighter, more in control, and better able to handle what life throws their way.

You don’t have to change everything overnight but small, gentle steps can create big shifts. Whether it’s seeing your child settle at school, finding more patience at home, or reconnecting with loved ones, Sandtray Therapy helps you move from feeling stuck to feeling supported, seen, and ready for what’s next.

Relief from Anxiety, Stress, or Overwhelm

When life feels too heavy, sandtray therapy offers a gentle release. Many clients say they feel lighter, calmer, and more in control even when they’ve struggled to find relief elsewhere. It’s a safe way to let go of emotional tension without needing to explain everything.

Improved Emotional Regulation and Resilience

Through sensory tools and creative expression, clients learn to recognise, understand, and manage their emotions. Whether it’s a child learning to calm after a tough day or an adult processing years of stress, therapy helps build confidence and self-awareness that carries into everyday life.

Stronger Family Connection and Communication

Therapy doesn’t just support individuals, it brings families closer. Many parents, carers, and partners find they’re better able to understand and respond to their loved ones, creating stronger relationships and more open, respectful communication at home.

Improved Confidence and Self-Esteem

When clients experience success in the therapy space by expressing emotions, creating scenes in the sand, or simply being heard without judgment it often builds confidence to navigate challenges outside the therapy room.

Why Choose Sensory Solutions?

A Creative Approach for All Ages

We offer more than traditional therapy. Our sessions use sand, symbols, and sensory tools to support children, teens, adults, carers, and first responders. It’s a gentle, client-led way to process big emotions without the pressure to talk.

Real Support, Real Results

This isn’t therapy that just ticks a box. You’ll find practical strategies you can use at home, a stronger sense of emotional regulation, and a space where lasting change starts to happen.

Therapy That Moves at Your Pace

There’s no rush here. Every session is tailored to your needs—whether you’re ready to explore deep feelings or just need a calm space to feel safe. We’ll never push you to share more than you’re ready for.

Local Care for Regional Communities

Based in Coonabarabran, we make therapy accessible for families and individuals across regional NSW. No long trips, no waitlists, just genuine support in a space that feels close to home.

Parent Testimonial
“Steve and Joanna were understanding, patient, insightful and fun. They listened to our goals and came up with solutions that actually worked for my kids. Having achievable goals meant we never felt like we were going around in circles. They related naturally and genuinely, helping my kids feel at ease with challenges that would usually cause anxiety. Thank you for listening and making a real difference.”
